About Jake Carlson
An attorney, recognized business leader, inspiring presenter, and popular podcast host. A natural storyteller who loves listening to your story and exploring what matters most to you.
I earned my law degree (JD) from California Western School of Law concurrently with a business degree (MBA) from San Diego State University attending on a Creative Problem-Solving Scholarship and receiving the 2005 Outstanding Case Award for best MBA consulting project. A licensed member of the State Bar of Arizona.
I began my career in the nonprofit sector as Associate Regional Director, and then National Major Gifts Counsel, an in-house tax counsel position, with the Boy Scouts of America National Foundation. It was in these positions I was first introduced to the idea of leaving not just your valuables but your values to the people you love most. Working with hundreds of families on tax estate strategies, I developed the Values-Based Estate Planning strategy used by LifePlan Legal today.
About LifePlan Legal
At LifePlan Legal, we take a comprehensive approach to Estate Planning by focusing on celebrating your life. Proper estate planning allows your values and wishes to continue even after you pass. This may include leaving gifts to your loved ones, ensuring a surviving spouse is taken care of, protecting your estate from taxes, and leaving a legacy.
If you already have an estate plan, periodic reviews are necessary. The law changes, as do the circumstances of your original plan.
We transform the complex into a simple, low stress and easy to understand process. We speak plain English, never legalese, while keeping you informed. We do our best to complete the process quickly, so that you can find closure and move forward with your life.
If a loved one passed away with a simple will naming you as a beneficiary, or if your loved one had no will, certain requirements are necessary to address their assets. If you have any questions regarding the steps you need to take, please schedule a free consultation. We will listen to your situation and figure out what needs to be done moving forward.
