Show Notes:
With the recent pandemic the amount of distressed hotels is likely to increase. In this episode, Adam Torres and Dr. Donald W. Wise, Co-founder and Senior Managing Director at Turnbull Capital Group and Founder of CBRE Hotels, explore the current and future state of distressed hotels.
About Donald Wise
As investment bankers, their team has been involved in approximately $9 Billion of workouts, restructurings, bankruptcy, receiver controlled, lender owned real estate, and the sale of over 240 mortgages representing both borrowers and lenders of hospitality, restaurant, office, golf course and hotel and resort properties.
Corporations are increasingly focused on bringing military combatants into leadership roles. The reasons are clear: U.S. Marines in combat are trained to anticipate unforeseen risk; create high-performance teams; and make quick, strategic decisions when under pressure. They also bring discipline to the engagement, a virtue that is increasingly necessary in today’s ever-growing disruptive and challenging times.
Over a twenty year career with CB Richard Ellis, Inc he closed both financings and sales in excess of $2.5 Billion of hotels and resorts, both healthy, distressed and new-build development (see CB Commercial International Investment Team attachment). I was the founder of the Lodging & Hospitality Services Group in November of 1984, which became CBRE Hotels in August 2014 with the acquisition of PKF Consulting (former Pannell Kerr Forster).
