Hey, I’d like to welcome you to another episode of Mission Matters. My name is Adam Torres, and I’m proud to announce, hey, we’re in Santa Monica, California for AI Vibes, and we have Mackenzie Brooke on the show today. And I just saw her performance, has a new song out, F. U. There’s a partnership with Hollow AI.
We got a lot to talk about Mackenzie. First off, just want to say welcome. Welcome. Thank you so much for having me here today. I’m so excited. So how do you feel? Just came off the stage. I saw an amazing performance. How do you feel? I love getting performers right off the stage. Well, I love performing, whether it’s like for one person or a stadium of thousands of people or a room full of like 45.
I just love performing, so it’s always such a great time and a fun time. So the new song, F. U., what inspired this? Well I want the story, come on. Most people think it’s about an ex relationship because I want people To just be able to vibe with the song no matter what they’re going through, but it’s actually about an ex best friend Which most people don’t know and it’s a great song.
It’s a great little fun vibe I like writing breakup songs that don’t make people cry But like amp and like pump them up to go and like and take that anger and put it into something else Yeah Tell me just a little bit about your process. Like what goes into that when you’re thinking about like what you’re going to release?
Cause a lot of creatives, a lot of musicians, a lot of ideas, but how do you settle on a song? It’s hard. I know that’s a hard one. I know, I know, but I have to, I have to, I love it. I feel it’s definitely so hard to figure out what songs are going to go out first because, you know, we just. Put a whole bunch of songs together and then it’s just like well, we love them all It’s so hard to pick which one it’s and it’s really funny because I actually was Full on doing country music before this song came out and like the first song was supposed to be like a full on like Country song really because I love country.
You sounded very country to me. No, i’m just joking I think that’s the first time anyone has ever said that I was like, that is interesting. That’s a lie. Go ahead That’s just a lie, but I think it’s like when I I don’t know it was supposed to be a country song and then once we kind of like You Finished this song got it mastered.
It was just like no No, it’s gonna be f you like I love my country music and i’m like that’s the type of music I listened to it’s type of music. I grew up on but I was like it has to be f you. I was just like it’s just such a banger to me personally and it’s something that like Really did mean a lot to me.
And, plus it was like the first song that I, I don’t curse, like, at all. But it was, it’s just like a shocking song because my audience knows I don’t curse. And to put out a song that’s called F. U., it’s just like, oh, like, wow. I was gonna say that. What is the audience response? Like, what’s been the I think they really have been enjoying it.
I just, I feel like a lot of people can really relate to the song. So, and to be honest, most people don’t. I, you know, when I’m upset, I go and say like, Frick you. Like, I don’t like curse, but like most people like, Ages like 12 and up to be honest like go and say the word and everything So I just feel like a lot of people like really relate to it I like it because the fact that you make this choice that you make it publicly because whichever way I like the fact that you Take a stand on what you believe in and you stick towards that.
It’s not saying people can’t change, they can’t, you know, express themselves differently creatively, but you’re doing it, you know, from yourself. It’s not just based on response or what’s gonna sell or what gets me more downloads or what’s gonna be that, like, next thing. It’s come, comes from the heart.
It’s authentic. All my songs are based on experiences. Yeah. Like, nothing is just like For better or worse, just, you know, Right now, they’re all breakup songs. They’re all, like, breakup anthems, I would say, because I don’t do slow music, at least at this point in time. But, like, I love, like, a good song that puts you in a good mood or takes that anger and, like, just, like, releases it.
Yeah, well, for the audience, we’re going to put all the links and everything in the show notes, so we definitely want you to go download this song. We want you to go subscribe, of course, all that good stuff. So jumping around just slightly I know I only have you for a little bit of time here today But hello AI like we’re at an AI conference I’m interested in how you’re you’re partnering like how’d this come about and what was your interest?
well, I I think the world is just changing and everything is moving into like AI format and it has Been that type of process for like a past, like I would say like a year or two, it’s like our whole world in like social media or just based off in real life has been changing into that. And when I was presented the opportunity to partner with hollow AI, I was just like, absolutely of course, because I do think AI will help us in a lot of different ways.
Hollow AI makes it for me as like. Social media influencer and artist it makes it easier for me to Connect with my fans 24 7 because you know, I’m one person It’s really hard to like be able to answer everyone all the time And especially if they’re like, it’s a full on conversation It makes it a lot easier to where my fans can connect with my twin, my Hollow AI twin And if they have questions or they want to know things like about me or they want to ask like For advice.
It’s really easy to now like be able to be there for them 24 seven a day. And I don’t have to be in the same place as them or same time zone. And it also is amazing because I have an audience that has like a wide range of like different languages and hollow AI makes it to where if you speak a different language, I could respond to you in your native language, which I think is really cool and amazing.
Yeah. And looking at. To me, I think about it like when I think about a musician like yourself, an artist like yourself, a creator like yourself, like partnering with a company like this, it’s kind of almost like. It’s giving permission for others to think about that their brand and their reputation, how they connect with their audiences differently as well.
And so it’s like, you know, there’s going to be different ways. We have all these conversations about AI. Is it, you know, pro AI against AI? What does it mean for the artists? What doesn’t it mean? We all know that it’s not going anywhere one way, shape or form, like some way it’s going to be in our lives, but can it help?
Enhance the music experience to the connection to the fans like you’re showing like can it help help and be something authentic that creates a Stronger bond versus you know making something just vanilla. No, I think it honestly Helps no matter if you’re in in the industry or out of the industry it helps because per se you’re an educator and your students are Asking you questions about like a homework assignment or an upcoming project or finals It makes it easier to wear, you know when educators go home They don’t necessarily they want to relax.
They want to be with their family I want to be on their own and it makes it to where Their students can now connect to them and ask them questions to where the teachers Doesn’t have to be on the clock and like helping them for like, you know It could be 10 minutes to an hour or so. So I think it’s this is just like a great like platform that is Able to help not only someone who’s in the industry, but who’s like out of the industry Like a doctor a teacher a professor like lawyer anything Love it.
All right. Final question. Mackenzie. What’s next? What’s next for you? What’s next for your career as an artist? What’s next? Oh, wow. Yeah, that’s a big one. That’s a big can of worms. Throw it out there. There are so many things that are like, that we’re planning on. Of course, new music. Yeah. We already have the next six songs locked up basically.
That’s what I’m talking about. So I’m so excited for people to hear those. Like I just love all of them so much. And it’s definitely going to be a hard one to pick out which one everyone gets to hear next. And, you know, we have like. Also, like I’m not gonna call it merch but like my own branding where it was products and clothing coming out Which I’m excited about the McKenzie ecosystem It’s not gonna be under my name because I I want it I want people to buy What I’m selling, not because of necessarily me, but I want them to buy it because of like how it’s made, what the products are.
Like, it can be beneficial to you in your life. So I like, I want to do, you know, the rare beauty way, the fancy way where nobody knew that it was actually Selena and like Rihanna behind the products until one day, like, once I like, wait, I love the product and I get this person? Like, how does that happen? I definitely want to do it that way because I just, I want people to love the brand, not just because I’m behind it, but also because it’s a good, they’re good products.
So there’s so much there, you know, you know, performances, all of that. Oh, I’m excited. Love it. I think that’s a great way to end it. So I’m excited too. It’s great to have you on the show today for everybody that’s listening. Definitely go check out F you and Mackenzie. Thanks again so much for coming on.
Thank you. Thank you. Oh, wait, hold on. I forgot to mention one thing. Oh, please. I have a new music video that is coming out this month, and I just want to Wait a minute, how did I not know about the video? Wait, okay, I retracted that. That wasn’t the last question. Really quick, tell me the video. I didn’t know about the video.
Well, I know because I totally I’m blaming that on Chirag. Chirag, you didn’t tell me about the video? Come on. I, it literally like Kinda sure you’re running around here. I, I mentioned it while I was like Performing but I totally forgot to mention it now, but we have a new music video for FU coming out It’s yes, really my first music video as an artist coming out I have done lots of music videos like as a professional dancers for like other Artists, but it’s my first.
How did that feel to shoot that? Oh, it was amazing I wouldn’t have been able to do it without Vinivia which is a live streaming Company that I have partnered with and I am so thankful for them. They’re absolutely amazing Everyone on the team is just the sweetest and the way they support my music Is absolutely insane and i’m so excited for this music video.
You have no clue It was basically we shot it and like i’m just gonna say we basically shot it in one day. Wow, and it was a long day. Oh No, honestly, like oh wait, you’re just on it. You were on it It was No, like we we need to be like You have a great team then that says a lot. Yeah, that’s a great team.
The directors were amazing Everyone all my friends all my friends were in the music video. Oh stop. So that was the coolest thing I had friends who flew to la to film it And I’m just so grateful for all my friends, all the dancers, the choreographer, the director, the videographer, the whole, like, crew, the makeup artist, the clothing.
It was like, all of it was so incredible. And it was put together, like, in really short notice, to be honest. So it was super chaotic, and if, whether you’ve been on music video sets. That’s the energy, though. I have been on music video sets, and the energy, though. Yes, but you know, nothing, nothing goes to plan.
Not if it’s going to be good. And the way just everyone handled all the ups and downs. Like I know for sure. I was like, ah, during the music video, like it was, I was outtakes. No, no. Yeah. I know there’s a video of, I decided to some, some reason I set my suitcase down in a pile of ants. Oh. And that was the next outfit I was wearing, was the pile of ants.
And so I know there was me freaking out at one point in time, that’s somewhere on video, somewhere. But yeah, it was such an incredible shoot, and like, I wouldn’t have been able to do it. Without Bonivia. So I’m incredibly grateful for like their whole team. They’re amazing. Such a great live streaming platform too.
So, especially cause Tik Tok is going away. So like everyone better go to Bonivia. Okay. Do it live, do it live. And did you say a date or did we set, did we set? Yep. This month, this month. Okay. This month. We haven’t set a date. So we’re in May. There we go. We’re in May. For everybody watching, we’re in May. So this month, this month.
Yeah. I’m so excited. Oh, oh, it’s so amazing. It’s so amazing. Like game on. And I, and I forgive you for almost holding out on me on that one. I would, if I would have saw you like on TikTok somewhere else, like a week later, like she had a video, she was just in the show. She didn’t even tell, I forgive you Mackenzie.
