Hey, I’d like to welcome you to another episode of Mission Matters. My name is Adam Torres, and I’m so proud and excited to announce we’re at the Korea Conference and Marina Del Rey, and we have a return guest that I caught here, Jim Wong, coming back on the show. And hey, first off, Jim, I just want to say great catching up, man.

Adam, this is fantastic. I’m glad you’re trying something new, having your podcast. And interviews and discussion on a boat. It’s a first. So for everybody that’s watching this, I’ll tell you right now, this was Jim’s idea. We, we met at the, we met up last time at, I think it was Texas FFA. And, and he told me about some other conferences and I’m like, man, on a yacht, on a boat, let’s do it.

We haven’t done it before, but Hey, first time for everything. So first off, Jim, I just want to say Korea conference. Tell me about it and tell me why you’re here. Yeah, so it started last year with Jenny Chu having idea of in the U. S. and Los Angeles in particular is the largest Korean population outside of Seoul, Korea.

So by having and with Korea as such a tech forward company, innovating not just technology, but fashion and entertainment. Like K pop, you know, she thought it would be a great idea to have an event to tie the U. S. and Korea because they’re such a close relationship and really discuss something about technology and sharing tech and information.

So, last year as the inaugural event. It was really very powerful and the takeaways were everyone is we need to do more. We need to go bigger. So this year you see on the boat and then also tomorrow another bigger event in Beverly Hills. Wow, it’s pretty amazing. And so far what I know of the story is that it just keeps growing.

It keeps growing. The conference keeps growing. I know this is the the second year for the bigger event happening and. Exp exp Realty commercial with which you’re with. Tell us why, like how real estate plays into this and like what, where you see there. Yeah. So with our company, we’re a tech forward company.

Mm-hmm. , we were the Metaverse Are the Metaverse. Yeah. And constantly improving on technology. So it was a perfect fit for our company to be involved with the Korean Tech conference. Because of just the technology, innovation, creativity, and also constantly learning for new fresh ideas, how we can plug it back into our company.

So it is important to be always in the forefront of knowledge, collaboration, community, and building, and a lot of friendship and knowledge sharing. We thought for our company being a virtual company, being in the first one in the metaverse, it really was important to be at these type of conferences to really learn and connect with more people around the world.

So what excites you about this year’s conference? I mean, a lot, a lot of different things. There’ll be a lot of speakers, a lot of different content, like what, why should people that are watching that won’t be at tomorrow’s event? Think about why they should be here next year. Well, I would say this, it keeps getting bigger and better.

The collaboration, the people, I mean, it literally got booked up so quick because of just the buzz and what happened last year. So everyone got a lot of FOMO saying, Oh boy, I should have been here. I needed to be here. So this year, people now realized what was going on. Signed up, asked to be involved early.

So we know next year, sign up early, sign up now. Because it is something that you want to put on your calendars. Talk to me about the community, like that community that’s developing. I noticed that, or when I interviewed, I had the privilege of interviewing Jenny earlier, and she was talking to me about how, you know, originally this was her meeting with just friends at a big.

At a holiday party, it got bigger. It got bigger. So talk to me about just that community aspect, because I feel like I go to a lot of conferences, you go to more than me, but I go to a lot and that community component, I feel is super unique here. Well, you know, Jenny is always very proactive and her network is immense.

So she actually, instead of just making it. More informal, she said, it’s time to go formal. I can help more people. I can scale this bigger. So what she took kind of, we all say at startups from the garage to an office, right? So she said, okay, there’s enough garage talk. Now let’s go do this big. And I know with Jenny.

Everything she touches, she does really, really big. Oh, man. No, I, well, I can see it. I’m getting to know Jenny better. I’m getting to know the conference better. And we’re going to be creating a whole lot more content here over the next couple of days for our audience and taking that to them. So, hey, Jim, I just want to say, appreciate you coming back on the show.
