Welcome to the Pix Podcast! Today’s guest is Carl Cafagna of Metro Jazz Voices. The group will be performing at the Pix on February 25th at 7:30pm.
Carl talks about the difference between the Great American Songbook and scat singing, and how they are both considered jazz. He also talks about the different instruments he plays, the origin of Jazz, and how he knew he wanted to make music his life from a young age.
Carl and his group will be performing a mix of songs from the Great American Songbook, Brazilian Bossa Nova, and a very exciting arrangement of Dizzy Gillespie’s Night in Tunisia. They will also be featuring acapella singing and improvised solos on woodwinds, saxophone, flute, piano, bass, and drums. Don’t miss this amazing performance on February 25th, and pick up their award-winning CD recording.
