Alright, so today I am in Beverly Hills, California. I am at the Home of Monetized Talks, and I got David Rivera on the line. He’s a return guest and today. We’re here for a Girl Power Network event and David, first off, welcome man. Welcome, welcome to your house, back to the show, home of Monetized Talks 16th edition.
By the time this comes out, it won’t be live, but monetize talks.com. Um, you’ll see more and more editions coming up. We come out here ev once a month, um, and we celebrate. We bring everybody together, man, David. Hey man. Thanks for having me. Thanks for, thanks for having you. Him in his house, right? It was a far walk from my bedroom downstairs to here.
That’s awesome. So, um, this collaboration Girls Power Network, like, tell, tell me a little bit about it and I know you’re thrilled to bring everybody together and get, just be a member of the community. Yeah, I mean, uh, I’m friends with Huda and Dr. Kate and they’re the ones that run. GPN. Yeah. Right. And it’s a great network.
It’s a whole bunch of successful women entrepreneur, they’re very entrepreneurial and they all have different businesses and different professions, and they’re like a very tight community. Mm-hmm. And I always like supporting their events. I’m letting them throw their event at my home today. They’re having a whole bunch of people here.
And there’s like senators here. Yeah, there’s mayors here from Glendale, I think. Mayor from West la. Yeah. Uh, west Hollywood, there’s tons of like senators and governors and mayors. So it’s a very political, uh, event. Event. And let’s, let’s talk, talk for a second. Let’s talk for a second about the aesthetics.
When we think of a GPN event, the first thing I thought is we’re coming on Sunday. They have all of these things. I was like, of course they’re gonna make it amazing. And they, they, they just did what I thought would happen. Yeah, no, they did a great job, like laying everything out, all the different sponsors.
Mm-hmm. Jewelry companies and food companies and clothing brands. It’s just, it’s pretty cool. Yeah. And so I, I wanna get a little bit with some of the time we have here, I want to get into monetized talks and your vision for that. And really the monthly event that I think I’ve been to about four or five of them now.
And man, it’s quickly become one of my favorite monthly events. Tell us a little bit about it. Well, now you’re married because you met all the girls from my events. Whoa. No, I’m so, I’m just joking. I’m joking. You are not married, I’m joking. No, but there are great events, great networking. And it’s, I just love it because it’s a good community.
Mm-hmm. And everyone come is coming here to learn. Yeah. Or to network and get value or get a client, build some business relationships. Maybe you’ll meet your wife or your spouse or your new best friend. But everyone’s there. It’s, it’s a tight community. I want build, I wanna build a monetizer community.
’cause it’s called Monetize Talks. Yeah. And I just want people there that want to share value, teach people things. Do business deals, make friendships. Yeah. And that’s what the whole purpose of it’s about. So as a community organizer, what’s been your favorite, one of your favorite parts about bringing the community together?
Like what? Give us some moments. Uh, just hearing stories of success. Mm. Like I had a friend that landed a huge real estate client here. Yeah. They, they became friends. And he did over $250,000 in commission. Come on, man. Yeah. Where he sold a huge house. Huge Beverly, a house in Beverly Hills. Mm-hmm. He got the listing and he did the loan.
Wow. So he did, he made over $250,000 commission. Wow. By meeting a guy here. Never met the guy in his life. They became friends and now he. He made a ton of money off, off his friend. Yeah. But you know, I mean that’s, those are the kind of deals that happen here. People, $250,000 people are getting clients. Mm.
They’re landing clients. I had probably have five clients landed for my, uh, I have a guy that sells Wealth advisor. Yeah. Right. So he does wealth management, invest in stocks, life insurance. He’s getting a ton of clients. Mm-hmm. CPAs are getting, uh, accounting clients, real realtors, mortgage people, influencers come here.
Mm-hmm. And they get. Wow. They get tons of advice on e-commerce and marketing and PE deals are happening. Fulfillment deals have been done here. Mm-hmm. I have, there’s a company that, you know, you have you printer print, afi. Yeah. They do print all the shirts and all that. Yeah, yeah. Companies like that.
They’re getting company sponsors and they’re printing shirts for people here. I mean, it’s just all these deals are happening and I’m like, and they, people are telling me like, Dave, I got a client from here. I gotta landed a client. I’m like. It’s working. I, I wanna take a step back while we have a moment.
’cause normally at your event you’re too busy. I, I got you for like three minutes, so I, it’s hard to get you on here, but I wanna take a, do a little bit of a reset here because some of our audience, we’ve been blessed that month over month, we keep growing. Maybe just give a little bit about your background.
’cause it’s easy to say, okay, we’re in Beverly Hills, we’re in this, you know, multimillion dollar home. You got cars. Other things they may see about you on social media and other things, but tell a little bit about your story. Uh, I’m Hispanic. Yeah. Rivero. Rivero. Come on. Ablo Espanol. Uh, yeah. Yeah. Uh, but you know, my family’s from, uh, Bolivia.
So they migrated here. So I was born here. Mm. They had me and my beautiful brother, right? Mm-hmm. Two great kids. School was tough for me growing up ’cause they didn’t speak any English. Mm-hmm. They, you know, when your parents come here, they don’t, they get the worst jobs. They’re Yeah. Cleaning homes and doing dishes and doing the jobs you don’t want to do.
Mm. Right. Mm-hmm. Uh, but, you know, they taught me values. Hmm. And, uh, from those values and that discipline, that’s where I was able to start a business. Mm-hmm. And I was able to grow and build things. But I think. Like it’s all comes from your family values, your parents. Yeah. Yeah. And if they teach you right.
Eight outta 10 times, you’re gonna turn out pretty freaking good. Mm mm And, uh, you know, so I’m gonna incorporate that in my life, you know? Mm-hmm. Uh, you just, but it’s not about, like, I didn’t come from anything. Right. And it come from any money, like everything. My parents don’t, they’ve never owned a business.
Hmm. So they’re, they couldn’t teach me anything about entrepreneurship or owning a business or marketing or sales. They were, you know, employees for sure. So I had to learn all those things, kinda like self-taught. Mm-hmm. And I think when you just, when you want it, you’re just gonna try and make it happen.
Mm-hmm. And most people kind of give up, uh, like, you know, they try it, they fail once. They’re like, oh, it’s too hard. And they stop and you just gotta keep on freaking going. Mm-hmm. I think of like every little failure as just a step closer to where I want to be. Mm-hmm. Like right now, I honestly think I’m at the 10 yard line.
Yeah. And, and I still, I have to go 90 more yards. That’s where I’m at right now in life. I’m still at the beginning. That’s how I feel. What do, what do you think were, were some of the things that helped you get to that next level? ’cause your beginning could be where, you know, some people are really aspiring to get to you.
You say you’re at the beginning like, but this is a lot accomplished. Yeah. I mean, yeah. I’ve accomplished a lot. Yeah. But it’s, you gotta think bigger. Mm-hmm. I tell everyone, think way, whatever you’re thinking right now. Mm-hmm. 10 times more, you’re not thinking big enough. Mm. And that’s the problem with me.
Yeah. I thought, hey, if I did $65 million a year in sales, that’s good. Mm-hmm. That’s not enough. Mm. I wanna do a billion dollars in sales. Yeah. Not 65 million. Yeah. Right. Ooh, I want you to do a billion in sales. That just, I love that feels good. Yeah. It just. Just like, those are the numbers I want to hit.
Right? Yeah. So that’s my drive, that’s my passion. And, and it’s not about money. I, I already have a shit load of toys. I’ve had yachts and cars and Lambos, and I own a shit load of real estate. Mm-hmm. And it’s not about those things. Now it’s, I wanna make a shitload of money so I can help a lot of people.
Mm. Because if you don’t make a lot of money, you can’t help a lot of people. If I only make a million dollars a year, how many people can I really help? Yeah. Not that many. But if I make a billion dollars a year, I could make a, you know, I mean, think about Warren Buffet, think about Bill Gates. All the people, these people help, right?
Mm-hmm. They help millions of people because they’re billionaires. Mm-hmm. But when you’re a billionaire, you could help a lot more people. So that’s me. That’s why I kind of like the whole monetized talks. Mm-hmm. The entrepreneur community. I’m passionate about it. Like I know about it. I’m very knowledgeable.
Mm-hmm. So I think do things that you’re, you’re passionate about Yeah. That you’re knowledgeable in and that you enjoy. Mm-hmm. And all those things. I enjoy. Amazing. Um, last thing I want you to do, David, look into the camera and if somebody wants to follow up, learn more about Monetized Talks or anything else you’re working on, how do they connect with you?
