About Diego Alba
He is a family man, business owner, real estate investor, and small business builder. he built multiple successful small businesses. In many different trades, like Barber & Beauty, Construction, to Real Estate Investing, just to name a few. Currently launching IGNYTE: a multi-channeled company offering one-on-one coaching to new entrepreneurs and current small business owners. Real estate sales, home loans, and investing. Theyre to help others find their “WHY” and built for it.
Throughout the 20 years of experience he encountered plenty of obstacles: he started from humble beginnings, being born in Mexico. he was discriminated by others in school, but pushed on. He started my entrepreneur lifestyle out of my parents’ garage, and learned he could make as much as three paychecks worth of a minimum wage job, doing what I do best. Unfortunately, having little to no knowledge on the industries he wanted to maneuver in around the time the market crashed in 2008 resulted in me losing everything he had.
However, he was able to get everything back, and continue growing more than ever before. Even today he is always finding ways to consistently bring in millions and create a generational wealth that is self sustaining.

Hey, I’d like to welcome you to another episode of Mission Matters. My name is Adam Torres, and today we are in Beverly Hills, California at Monetized Talks. Let me tell you, David Rivero has been putting on this event. We’re at the 15th edition. I’ve been to many, last one I couldn’t make cause we were in Atlantic City doing a gig out there, but I’m pumped to be here today.
This has become quickly one of my favorite events of the month. And I, I snagged one of the speakers. So we got Diego on the line. Diego, welcome. Thank you for having me, brother. All right. So just to get us kicked off here, have you, have you been to one of these events before? Do you know what? I was as a guest as a guest back almost a year ago.
I was crazy. Cause I saw a recent real, my team put up and it shows me saying, Hey, you see that, you see that screen. I’m going to be there next. I’m going to be a speaker. What, what keeps coming back? What keeps you coming back? I love the, you know, relationships, building relationships, networking with people and making sure that, you know, there’s always someone I always tell people, there’s always someone that knows more than you.
So always, you know, just building relationships with the right people and connections. And it just allows you to keep scaling. How’d you meet David originally? I’m looking for those Dirt David stories. No, I’m just kidding. I don’t know how you knew him. You know what I mean? I think with him me and him met through a mutual friend.
Over in Hollywood. Same thing, just had a networking event and, you know, we were, I think it was a Christmas event as a matter of fact, and then we just, you know, started talking and hit it off and became friends. Yeah. So I know later on, you’re going to be doing some of the speaking and you got, you got now, this isn’t really a spoiler because all the people that are watching this either on YouTube or listening to it on our podcast channel, they don’t know.
Yeah. So give me the talk, man. What are you going to talk about later? We’re going to go over a couple of things that I do, right. And I’ve done in my life is I’ve always built businesses, different types of businesses, different trades. And then I’ve always invested money into real estate. So I always do one with the other.
I never actually stopped doing one or the other. I always did them hand in hand. So I’m going to go over. The simplicity of doing it. If you want to become an investor, a real estate investor, cause I’m not an agent. I’m not a lender. I don’t have any licenses like that. I want to show people that you can actually become an investor.
And you know, you don’t have to be an expert at everything. One little thing. Cause a lot of people want to procrastinate. Cause they’re like waiting for that one moment. You know, I got to wait for that perfect moment. Out of the market. Right. They’re like, Oh, is it now? The time is now the time. It’s always, you know, it’s always a time.
So when you’re an investor, there’s always property out there for you to purchase. Yeah. And so your company’s name, Ignite Your Fire. Is that, or Ignite? No, it’s Ignite and exactly what it means. Ignite the fire within you. And it’s mentorship coaching that I do for business owners and real estate investors, how to scale their portfolios.
And if they don’t have one, start one, you know, for business owners as well. And then showing business owners systems, procedures, operations, how to step away from the business. Yeah. Cause a lot of them are like. Especially Latinos. You look Latino. I don’t know if you are. Yeah. Come on, I guess we’re in Beverly Hills.
So I could be Persian. I could be Israeli. I could be Indian. I get Indian quite often. My dad’s from Puerto Rico. Mom’s a Mexican descent. So I’m a, there you go. I’m Mexican. There you go. But they’re, they’re good. That’s, that’s good. Get a portable Puerto Rican. Yeah. Good cultures. Good cultures. Exactly. But yeah, so I’m Mexican.
So for me, it’s really big, you know, to show our people that you can actually step away from your business and just look at the metrics, look at the operations and make sure that it keeps scaling. You don’t have to be there. We’re so used to like, you have to be hands on. Yeah. Yeah. I don’t have to be.
Amazing. Cause that’s what we show. How long have you been doing this business, Ignite? Like, and also what is a follow up? What, what inspires you to create the company? You know what it’s been? We went hard last year, to be honest. It’s been a year that we went really, really hard on it. Inspired me that I finally had the foundations in my businesses and my investments.
Yeah. Where I can actually start showing others. How to live wealthy because, you know, once it’s to the point where we got wealthy ourselves and we’re like, we’re pretty good, we’re living well, we’re living well. So now we’re actually able to show others, Hey, look, you can buy this freedom back. You can actually get create this environment.
You know, if you don’t like the environment you’re in, you can actually create a better environment for yourself. So. And you’ve been in the real estate game just in general. How long? 25 years. So you’re just getting started. Yeah, right. Yeah. I need a lot of 25. Yeah. What, what markets primarily? I, everything that I land, I own S me and Dave were talking about this.
I, you know, I own land. I owned a multi units. I own. SFR, Single Family Residence, so a little bit of everything, multi units commercial, commercial as well. Yeah, and what, what do you find in your experience is one of the main things, like, one of the things I try to do is I try to make sure that the audience walks away with a tip or two or something to help them get a, like, they, they watch this, they get inspired, but I want some action.
Yeah, yeah. What do you find is maybe one of the top things that keeps people from moving forward and what’s an idea for them to kind of overcome that hurdle? Fear. Fear. We all have it. That fear. And I think, I think a lot of you guys don’t realize that, like, we still have fear, right? We’re at, we’re at a bigger level.
I’m scared right now. I just, man, I just came in from a crazy flight. I just came in from Miami in this flight. It took us 11 hours in a direct flight. They turned it around. I thought I was in the Langoliers. I didn’t know, I didn’t know what was going on. You didn’t know you were gonna actually make it out here, right?
I didn’t. I was like, This, this plane better not flip over. So I’m scared now. Go ahead though. That’s exactly, that’s exactly what it is. It’s fear. And I think people think like you know, the bigger you get or they, Oh, he’s been around or they’re wealthy or they’re rich and then they don’t have fear anymore.
Like, yes, we do. We have fear. We just face it. That’s the difference. So the difference between you guys, you guys listen, you learn, you take notes, then you have to apply yourself. So when you learn and you listen, the hardest thing for people to do is go and apply it. So I always tell you guys, so start with one thing.
So like if you’re at an event like this one, take a bunch of notes, go back home and go to that one thing out of everything that you learn. What’s that one thing that you can implement and say, this is the one thing I’m going to start with. Once you execute that. Everything else will become flow. It’ll, it’ll just become into a flow state.
You’ll start flowing one thing after another. But the thing is that you get home, you’re scattered because there’s so much information. You’re excited, right? The fire’s in you. You’re like, where do I put this fire at? You know? Man, don’t be calling me out. That’s exactly what I do. I’m like, oh, we got to do, what are we doing?
I want that one thing. So just find that one thing that stands out for you. And then blow up from there. Yeah, you know what’s funny is that that’s what, and then whenever I’ve like veered in business, it’s always because I got away from that one thing and myself and my, the other business partner here, the other co founder, his name’s Chirag.
And when we look back at metrics and there’s one metric above all that, that dictates if our revenue is going to raise year by year. And it’s quantity of interviews that I do, like literally, like we can, we can. Plot it. We’re like, Oh, this many this month. Okay. A revenue went up this many, this month went down and it’s not always from something you can attribute.
A lot of times it’s just the energy. It’s just the energy, the people you meet, you don’t know who’s listening to it, all of that. So this year I’ll do between 1500 and 2000 interviews this year. I’m over 6, 000 in already. And we’re just, we’re just going to start it. We’re like, why? Cause that’s that one thing, but I guess I’ll take it one step further on that one thing.
So let’s say you found out what your one thing is and, and which we have, That took some years to find out, but let’s say just for the, a little bit more advanced business owner. So they got their one thing. Talk to me about whether it’s scaling, whether it’s how do you start delegating? Like, like what’s next after that one thing?
Cause that, that was the thing. Yeah. That’s the biggest thing that I that I deal with with business owners is delegating, you know what I mean? At that point to where like I tell business, you’re too busy by yourself. So why don’t you get the first thing you can do is get an assistant and an assistant to delegate all that stuff that you don’t need to be focusing on.
They can send the email. They can send the text out. They can do other, so many things for you where you’re focusing on the actual overall leverage of the company, scaling the company, the metrics of the company, what are working. So you’re so busy doing all these things that someone in administration could be doing.
So the first thing is always delegating. Yeah. Delegate to one person. And then you’ll start seeing, wow, I have so much more time now to do these things, not to mess around, to focus on your business and actually do, Oh, you’re the visionary, it’s never messing around. If you get one thing off your plate, five more come and you’re like, dang, I just thought I had some time.
I had that Friday for, you know, you don’t, something else came up and a lot of them are afraid of you know, like. Okay, let’s just say you’re taking 100 percent of the pie, right? You need to give up 30%, start with, start with a percentage. Start giving up some of that pie, because you’ll never scale without giving up some of that pie.
And a lot of them are afraid of that. They’re like, you know why? Because they’re used to living, like if you’re used to living a certain With certain means, right? You’re like, oh, I can’t go down to this. I can’t, but you can, because the moment you do that, you take that step back, then you’re gonna actually overcome and surpass that amount of money that you used to make before.
