In this episode we reviewed the history that women could not get a credit card in their own name 40 years ago. We’ve come a long way from that time yet still have a long way to go to get parity with men. We celebrated the recent Nobel Economics Science Prize going to Claudia Goldin at Harvard University and mentioned her research on women’s roles and salaries in the workforce. Barbara Roberts shared resources for women either currently in business or wanting to start their own company.
Barbara B Roberts, Owner at B Roberts & Co. Originally an economist Barbara Roberts is most known as an entrepreneur. She built two businesses one a stock photo business now part of Getty Images and the other an audio tour company called Acoustiguide now part of Espro Acoustiguide. Currently she’s an Advisor at Columbia University’s Lang Center for Entrepreneurship as well as at Hofstra University. Recently she has authored the curricula for Women’s Business Centers in NY State.
