Hey, I’d like to welcome you to another episode of Mission Matters. My name is Adam Torres, and today we are at Grant Cardone’s headquarters in Florida. I just got done watching a pitch competition, and I was able to get one of the contestants on the show. So, his name is Emmanuel. First off, Emmanuel, welcome to the show, man.
Thank you. Thanks for having me. Alright, how are you feeling? Just got off stage, just got off with the performance. How are you feeling? I’m feeling good. I feel like I definitely could have did better, too. But Feeling good. Oh man, that, hold up. Look at me, man. What are you talking about? I’ll tell you, I watched your pitch and I thought it was amazing.
I think some of these, sometimes these things, there’s so much pressure. I’m like, I was, I was proud, man. I know you got college plans coming up with some other things. Talk to us about that. Yeah. Thank you. So right now I’m going to my senior year for high school. And I probably will go to A& T, I’m not exactly decided on what college I’m going to, but I will go to college.
Yeah. Talk a little bit about your idea and what you pitched today. Yeah, so I presented Strong Beginnings, which is basically like, to prevent addiction proactively. Mhm. And so a lot of addiction company, like a lot of companies that focus on attacking the problem of addiction, they have a reactive approach because they’re like recovery companies.
So after somebody is addicted, for whatever reason, they’re addicted, they come here and then they get back to, you know, being healthy again without the addiction. But I want to prevent it before it’s a problem. So like, attacking the problem before they even become addicted to drugs. Yeah. By teaching children, you know, grades K 12, like, healthy coping mechanisms to replace what would be drugs and alcohol.
Hmm. How’d you come up with that idea originally? Hmm. Well, honestly, I just like, I thought of it, cause like, on my father’s side of the family, Mm hmm. Like, alcohol was definitely a big Problem and it affected him and his childhood, but he kind of broke the curse. I would say like he Cuz he’s not addicted to and he used to be addicted to cigarettes, but he broke that addiction and When it came to me, I was taught, you know, why these are bad.
Yeah my entire life I was taught healthy coping mechanisms. And so when I experienced things like childhood trauma and stress I never became addicted to drugs or alcohol. None of that. Yeah. So I want other kids to have the experience that I got to hit. That’s amazing. What would you tell some of the other entrepreneurs out there that are looking to get into business and otherwise, or maybe even do a pitch competition?
I don’t know. What would you tell them? I would say. For a pitch competition, be confident at whatever you’re doing. Cause if you made it to a competition, then you practice multiple times and you know, you know your stuff. So just act like, you know, yourself, you gotta be confident. It’s awesome. Final question.
What was it like working with the Grant Cardone foundation? I love working at, I love the tour that you guys gave me. And I love the business meeting that we attended. It was very, it wasn’t what I expected at all. It was very interjected. It was a very lively environment. I would love to be in an environment like that.
I know, right? They’re like, they’re having fun around here too. They’re getting business done, but they’re having fun it seems like, right? Yeah. That’s awesome. If somebody wants to, last thing I want you to do, look in the camera. If somebody wants to follow you, follow your journey, how do they do that?
