Author of Under the Orange Blossoms, sexual abuse advocate, victim, and survivor Cindy Benezra joins Ken in a down and dirty discussion of the trauma she endured at the hand of her father between the ages of 5 and 10.
She talks about growing up with a true pedophile for a dad, and how she was groomed by both parents to hide and suppress this horrible experience, until her dreams unveiled her childhood memories from decades earlier. Cindy hides nothing as Ken wades through this way-too-common, but hidden, aspect of humanity.
Her courage in “coming out” with her story, and desire to model survival for those that are still hiding their own abuse, or having trouble finding the support to confront it, is an amazing example of self sacrifice, not to mention looking the devil straight in the eyes. Cindy tells us what it was like to interview her father, hear his rationalizations, then go on to care for him during his final days of life. SO POWERFUL…it’ll leave you speechless, as it did Ken on a few occasions.
Her contact information is below, where you can find her soon-to-be Best Selling book on Amazon, as well as her blog, called Cindy Talks, where you’ll find her interviews with her father, discussions with her children about their grandfather, and many other examples of strength, healing, and hope. This is a MUST LISTEN…
