Hey, I’d like to welcome you to another episode of Mission Matters. So did I have Carlos Ruiz on the line and he’s CEO and founder over at Working Entrepreneurs, Carlos.
Welcome to the show. Hi, Adam. Thank you for having me. Oh, man. I know that you’re one of the ambassadors for the Megamix Expo. So just kick this off. I’m gonna let you do my job, man. Talk to me about the Expo. Oh, well the Megamix Expo is a great business networking opportunity for anyone who’s in the Southern California, San Gabriel, Los Angeles, Orange County, LA area Inland Empire as well.
Because when you join a Business networking group. The purpose is to generate more revenue. And so speaking for ourselves personally, if you’re at working entrepreneurs since August of 2023, when we got involved with them, we have generated revenue literally every single month from August, 2023, straight through till this month from one time clients, repeat clients and monthly retainer clients.
So there’s definitely a good group of people. Man, you’re good at this. You should have been doing this promo, man. That’s what’s up. I’m in. This is awesome. So Carlos, man, did you originally find out the,, Megamix Expo? , how were you originally introduced to it? Yeah, so um, basically this mutual friend that Tony and I have.
His name is Damiano Regosa. He had this woman empowerment event in Downey. And it was all these power women players and point is. Tony was there and that’s where we met and you know him. He’s always on it and friendly and had his flyers and was like, Hey, come to this expo and so on. And after that, he’s just on it with , his followup and just kept, Hey, come to the events and so on and kept asking me to be an ambassador.
And I was just like, Hey, thank you. Yeah. They’re like, Tony’s on it. He’s like, come on, man. Be that ambassador. Just that he got you right, ? Yeah. Yeah. Well, no, I, I was just like, thank you. But that was kind of it, you know? Yeah. But then in general, since you know, his, his friendly follow up and all that nonstop, I go, let me, let me check out what they’re about.
Lemme go to this event, you know? Mm-hmm . So I went and they had over a thousand people at this, you know, all day event from, you know, eight to eight. And I was like, okay, not everybody has over a thousand people at their events. You know, so it’s like, this is, this is cool. A lot of, a lot of good things came from that.
And then after that same thing, he was nonstop on it. Hey, being ambassador. So I ended up saying yes. And then at the next event that one was the one in August of 2023. And when, as soon as I showed up. The emcee right at the front door, she just said, you’re the emcee. And I was like, what?
You know? Yeah. And then point is, her, the DJ, everybody was like, hey, it’s 1130, everything since 830, nothing has happened on the itinerary, on the stage, all these artists and whomever else is not showing, all this stuff is off track. And Yeah, and I just kept encouraging the actual emcee, you know, lady and she went up on stage and she was like, kind of, you know, almost eating and making out the microphone, but like looking at the floor and like not really saying much and just kind of like that and she when she walks off stage, she just puts the mic in my chest and walks away and so in that moment, I was like, How you said, dang, I go, , they need help, you know, and so I go, they got all these people here and I go, and, Tony, the way he is I was informing him and he’s, Papa, as are you, Papa, you got it, Papa, that you handle Papa, that you, you, that, that, that, he laid the, I like to say he laid the Miami on you on that one.
He said, yeah, he got it. Yeah, he did. You know, that’s all you, papá. You, you take over, papá. You handle that. You got, you know, I believe in you. And so I was like all right, you know. My man, Tony, love that guy. Yeah, yeah, he was really cool. And so the point is, we literally just took over. I got into this game mode with the, with the DJ.
And then we just coordinated everything. So point is everybody who was anybody that was on the itinerary, we moved them up to whatever timeframe that we possibly could. Hey, you’re on in 30 minutes. Hey, how soon can you come on? Hey, all this stuff, right? And then from there, we made up things during the timeframe where it’s like, all right, we’re gonna have all this dead space right now.
What are we going to do? So then since. I noticed earlier Tony was doing a raffle and a big room, that many people, he was background noise. No one was listening for that ticket number, right? And so I go, nah, we’re going to give away stuff live right now to get people to come to the stage. So I go, hey, all of you, whatever the thing was you’re going to give away, just give it away live at stage.
Ask people a question of something, Q and A. And then from that, it created this, this rush. to the stage, where now all these people sort of crowd in the stage going, I want this, I want that, because they’re just waiting for the next company to come up and give away something else. And they’re giving away on the spot, so it’s this fun thing.
We even created a a rock, paper, scissors contest, right? To where you can pick anything you want. From the table the best of three wins, right? And so people are I want to go next women and heels old ladies like we’re helping them up on stage You know what? I mean all this and we just created things and then from there We filled in that time to when the next actual artist was going to be on stage to do their songs, right?
Their set or the next performance of dances or whatever else and so, What was cool is before even allowing someone to do their their their set of music We made sure that we filled in every Every single seat. So I was like, Hey, DJ, put some really fun, exciting music and then hype on something. And then I would have on a mic and I’d get people literally each chair had butts in it.
And then I introduced whoever this person is, you know, and then that way he had a full crowd to actually engage with. Right, which just now made everybody else come around. And so I can go on now with all these things that we did. We ended up having like a party on stage, like just a bunch of women dancing on stage at one point like a nightclub and then we did like a conga line around the whole entire event.
So from that that’s what helps sparked a lot of things for us personally as working entrepreneurs as to where everyone’s like, Hey, you know, how do we connect with you? And then from that month forward, straight through till this month for. August, 2023. That’s about already going on a year and a half or so, right?
We’ve been generating revenue and every single month straight through till then till now from one time clients, repeat clients. Wow. Retain their clients. So speaking of go further into working entrepreneurs. Tell us a little bit more about the company. So working entrepreneurs, we do funding and automations.
So funding, we do personal loans, business loans, and real estate loans. We are not in the home buyer market. Majority of everyone who we help is a business owner or investor looking for working capital. And we help them get that funding through one of these three categories of. Personal funding, business funding, or real estate funding.
And so to give you an example for instance, we have a lot of medical companies and construction companies that partner with us because they constantly need financing for different things, whether it’s a payroll financing, equipment financing, or for instance mergers and acquisitions because a medical company wants to purchase another medical facility, right?
And so we help them acquire that type of funding they need for these moments. And yeah. On the construction side, let’s say for instance they have a lot of clients where they may not be able to afford their services or they just don’t want to use their savings to do so because construction can be costly.
And so they may introduce their prospects to us, we help their prospects get funding and now they purchase their construction services and the construction company themselves comes across opportunities and they say, Hey, we need money for this deal or for this equipment or for this job or whatever. So we, work with a variety of different, you know, industries but I figured like some straight examples.
And so, yeah, that’s the funding side. So we have a lot of fun stories there. And on the automation side, it’s anywhere from basics of a simple website to a high advanced funnel with a booking systems and payment processing and membership areas and communities and email and text message, nurture campaigns that.
Follow up on someone for an entire year automatically with AI chatbots embedded on the website, in your text messages, in your Instagram DMs and more. We have a full team of employees on the automation side, so they’re the ones, you know, crunching all the tech stuff on the keyboard all day for eight hours.
Do what you and I right now are doing, Adam. The relations, the customer service, right? And so, yeah, that’s basically that. And some people, they kind of wonder, well, hey, how is it you do these two industries that are kind of different, right? Well, really back in the day, in 2013, I started with just mortgages.
And I didn’t know that when you do mortgages, you offer people marketing for them to send you more deals. Right. And my niche became business and investors pretty quick. And so then they just kept asking, Hey, can you give me personal loans, business loans? Right. And so from that, we started doing all those loans as well.
So for about what, six years now, we’ve been doing, you know, personal loans and business loans likewise. And that’s where I made the decision to not be in the home buyer market years ago, because with business and investors, we’ll do multiple deals. In a year, right? And so from that, what happened is we just did all the automations for ourselves, and then our clients kept asking us, hey, who built your site?
Who built your automations? Who built your follow up systems? And all these things, and I was like, and this, by the way, it makes sense why you can even make the claim and state very authentically that hey, we got revenue every month from Megamix Expo because you got the systems built. So how’d you do that?
It wasn’t by accident because you’re good at what you do. Well, thank you. Thank you. I appreciate that. Yeah, you know, and so to finish answering that first question in regards to connecting the two, essentially, as our clients just kept asking us, like, hey, you know, can can you build that for us? We said no, you know, because it’s it’s work.
I don’t want to do all that. You know, it’s different when they want, you know, flyers or whatever, something basic, you know, but for building all this, it was like, you know, Okay, since they kept asking me over time, it became, I think I need to pay attention to what the market is asking for. Right. And so we created an offering for that and off the bat we hired employees and yeah, basically as the times develop, we develop with the times.
So the reality is marketing and money. That’s at the core, really what it is. It’s money and marketing, but since the times develop, we develop with them. So it’s funding as a whole and automations. So we’ve had working entrepreneurs provide funding and automations. That’s awesome. It’s a great story, Carlos, and man, I’m looking forward to meeting you in person at, at the expo.
