Show Notes:
Having a solid financial plan is key to achieving long term financial success. But how many of us have one? In this episode, Adam Torres and Lawrence Sprung, CFP®, President at Mitlin Financial, explore the barbell approach to financial planning.
About Lawrence Sprung, CFP®
He founded Mitlin Financial in 2004, a company named in memory of his wife’s grandfather, Mitchell, and my mother, Linda. His Mom is more than just the LIN in Mitlin, she is the reason he does what he does. As a teen he watched his parents struggle with their finances as she battled breast cancer for over a decade, it became his driving force. As Mitlin Financial’s president and lead wealth manager, He drives planning and asset management services, as well as business development, for the firm. You will benefit from his decades of making your needs my number one priority.
Financial literacy is an area he is passionate about; his articles have been featured on CNBC, Yahoo Finance, and Nasdaq. And his commentary is regularly featured in publications such as Long Island Business News, Yahoo Finance, CNBC, Newsday, and Bankrate. It is important to him you understand the information I am relaying. He entered the financial industry in 1996, and continues to be inspired by the challenge of helping you achieve and even surpass your financial goals. He started his career at a small boutique, and later served tenures at Salomon Smith Barney and Bank of America Investments. Mitlin incorporates the best features and practices from my previous firms.
You will feel like family in Mitlin’s offices as he is proud to be serving the second and third generations of his clients. He has seen first-hand how strong financial habits, instilled in parents, children and grandchildren, can impact a family’s wealth and wealth stewardship for generations. He is an active volunteer serving on the National Board of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and on its Financial and Investment committees. He is a Long Island Business News’ “40 Under 40*,” and was subsequently chosen, in 2009, as Valedictorian of the “40 Under 40*” Class of 2006.
I am honored that Mitlin was named Best Wealth Advisor in LIBN Reader Awards. He is an avid New York Rangers fan, and gets on the ice whenever he can. He and his wife Denise travels frequently to watch their sons play ice hockey.
